The Drop Has Not Arrived. The Arrangement Continues.

The arrangement is specific and I will restate it precisely as I have restated it in every account I have kept since intake: on a date I was not told and will not be told, I will be removed from The Cruel Dungeon, transported by means I did not specify and have not been shown, and deposited in a country whose name I do not know with no identification, no access to my accounts, no standing contacts, and no return structure. I purchased this outcome completely. The full amount, which I will not disclose here, was transferred before arrival. This is what I paid for with sixty years of acquiring things. The walls of The Cruel Dungeon are a deep purple-black, the color of something that has been pressed until it has no light left in it, and I have been looking at them for seventeen months in the cage they fitted at intake, waiting. The drop has not arrived. The arrangement continues.

What I did not purchase — what was not offered and would not have been — is knowledge of the date. Mistress Lynne holds the date. Staff may hold it or may not; I have not asked and will not ask, because asking would change the relationship between me and the waiting in a way I am not willing to change. I have liquidated four positions since arriving. The portfolio that took four decades to build is declining at a rate I track but no longer manage actively, because managing it was the act of a man who intended to have it, and I am not that man anymore. I am worth considerably less than I was. The number going down is not a loss. It is the clock. Every dollar declining is the tempo of what is coming, and the tempo is the only thing that matters now. I wake every morning and before I open my eyes I consider whether today is the day, and my body behind the cage answers that question in a way nothing in forty years of acquisition ever produced.

The drop has not arrived. I want to record that. The arrangement continues, which means I am still in the waiting, which is the part I did not plan for and did not name in the contract and cannot now name for what it is without violating the logic that makes it work. I paid for an ending. What I received was something that delivers the ending one day at a time, in installments, each morning a small rehearsal for the morning that will be real. Mistress Lynne informed me this week that a further three positions have been called in from outside the arrangement. This is correct. Everything is proceeding as arranged. The cage is steel and locked and has been for seventeen months. The drop has not arrived. I am still here, and I am, in a way I have no vocabulary for, exactly where I intended to be.
